Flaxbourne Gardens Wedding
If you’ve ever wondered how to pose your hands at a wedding, then this is the ultimate guide. Study Ricky Bobby below for a good few hours, then repeat on your wedding day.
Nailed it!
Flaxbourne gardens was the location for Wendy & Dali’s wedding, two dear friends who tied the knot in style. As you can gather from the above image they’re unbelievably fun to shoot and their wedding was all kinds of epic. Flaxbourne Gardens is one cool place, plenty nooks and crannies to keep the wandering guest occupied for a good few hours. Few other places in the greater Milton Keynes area offer such an eclectic mix of shooting locations. On one side varieties of Japanese Maple line raised walkways, Willow and Wisteria reach down to the Red Bridge, branches audibly groaning under the weight of abundant purple flowers.
The ceremony was held under the Roman Arches, I’m incredibly proud to say the most wonderful rendition of the Jurassic Park theme on the violin was played by my other half as both bride and groom came down the aisle. Cleverly disguised at around half the pace, most of the guests were none the wiser! What I particularly love about humanist hand fasting ceremonies is the involvement of close family and friends. A ribbon is placed over the couples hands and individuals are invited up to make a blessing and add a stage to the knot as they do so, hence ‘tying the knot’! Something absolutely brand new to me was the conclusion of the ceremony, where the bride and groom jump over a broom together followed by the rest of the congregation, a lovely touch and also a way to include all the guests in the marriage. Now then, when a couple ask if its time to do karate during a shoot, you know you’re in for the best wedding photographs ever taken. So without further ado, I give you the amazing wedding of two amazing people.
