The second wedding at cruck barn this year didn’t disappoint, the rain tried to weave its way through some overcast august skies, but thankfully stayed away for the most important outdoor photographs. Id never been to St Marys in Shenley Church End, inside is exactly what you’d expect from a church of that era, but the tree lined pathway leaving up to it as an absolute gem of a spot for pictures. I do love that about Milton Keynes, it gets alot of stick for having very little in terms of inspirational architecture and too many roundabouts, but there are so many little pockets like this to be found. The church is incredibly secluded and you feel like you’re in a separate world cut off from the rest of the city, what better way to make you feel calm before being married.
As you’ll see from the pictures the boys donned the traditional Scotsman’s attire true to the families heritage, the full outfit does look incredibly smart. After the service the three of us stayed behind to make use of the light streaming through the trees – such a gorgeous spot. It was a great opportunity to get some epic shots and mess around with the tilt-shift. To Cruck Barn. Kevin & Stacey were game for a laugh and emerged with two huge helium filled balloons – hilarity ensued. Trying to jump in heels it turns out is quite hard, not speaking from personal experience you understand. As normal the temptation for the boys was just too much, and in the middle of the pictures started lifting up Kevin’s Kilt, there was plenty of leg on show…and sometimes a bit more, much to everyone’s amusement.
Currently the venue has scaffolding re-enforcing the structure (it is rather old) but with some creative navigation through some bushes we still managed to get some excellent photographs. The evening was rounded off with a perfect wee dance routine, luckily i spun around just in time for Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli give the verdict.
