Woburn Sculpture Gallery Wedding By Liam Smith Photography
How do you plan a wedding in only a few months?
I have no idea, but these guys know how to do it in style. Woburn Sculpture Gallery is absolutely stunning, I cannot believe that in my twenty seven years living in Milton Keynes I’ve never even visited, let alone shot a wedding there.
Now here’s one for the Woburn buffs, I’m sure I saw a bronze tortoise on the pathway up to the house, did mine eyes deceive me? What’s that all about? Upon further inspection at a later wedding, I’m pretty sure this is in honour of a beloved family pet, you know, from back in the days when having giant tortoises wandering around the grounds was absolutely normal.
There is something so wonderfully extravagant about getting married ‘on the Woburn estate’. The architecture and the grounds provide an awesome backdrop for photographs, and as you can see above, the epic tree couldn’t be left out.
As much as I love the epic tree, I think my favourite image of this set is the very last one. It tells me who these guys are, who they are together and how they want to live their lives. It’s fun, it’s playful, it’s silly. Life is serious for sure, there are plenty of moments that call for calmness and respect. But this moment, in the photobooth, this is two people being who they want to be and who they want to be together. There is never enough laughter in the world, make sure that each and everyday you choose happiness. Be open, be vulnerable and be silly, life is too short to not embrace the child inside.
I’m enamoured by the fact that the wedding season stretches right from the early bursts of spring through to the cold snaps of winter. Each provides such a different type of light, from the fresh greens and bluey hues of succulent spring, to those long shadowy autumnal afternoons, I do love England. Not only for the changes in weather but for the excuse to start eating certain things, ones mind wonders to mince pies and brandy cream somewhere around august.
Plenty of genuine joy in this one, heartfelt hugs, belly laughs and ducking under a five foot eight ceiling. The emotion levels were cranked up to eleven when the pipers began to play. The sound built up in the belly of the hallway before being unleashed upon the main arena. Such an awe inspiring cacophony from only a handful of players, truly spectacular. It is of course customary for the bride and groom to partake in the playing, and they of course, did not disappoint…
“WOW! Honestly we can’t thank you enough we are totally overwhelmed by the photos they are just perfect you are a genius”
