Introduction to Chicheley Hall Wedding Photography
As you reach the end of the tree-lined driveway, Chicheley Hall reveals itself and boy is it a classic. The Grade 1 listed Georgian Mansion has 80 acres of land to explore, perfect for garden games or a wander with a Pimms. In 2007 it was put up for sale and bought for £6.5 million, I make no secret of it being my dream to own a wedding venue one day, how cool would it be to own this? Alas The Royal Society are the proud owners and have apparently spent another £12 million restoring it, it was worth it, Chicheley Hall is one of my favourite venues to work at.
Chicheley Hall Wedding Photographer: Capturing Jon & Emma’s day
It was at gas mark twelve for this particular jaunt to Chicheley Hall in Northampton, colour, laughter, chocolate cake, we had it all and I’ve been dying to share this wedding with the world. With a house as grand as this you wouldn’t expect two plastic pterodactyl’s to be lurking in the grounds…but there they were. Ordinarily you might think that they’re not exactly wedding material, but it was Jon and Emma who told me they were there! I love the shots we got with them, it was crazy dark under the trees, but i really like how moody they’ve come out. The section of trees was hidden at the back of the main gardens and provided a perfect place to take shelter from the sun and then blow out some highlights and get some gnarly colour from the trees. The shots of them together are gorgeous, i wish i could pull off a dickie bow, there is something effortlessly cool about them.
Update: The Pterodactyls’ Mysterious Disappearance
THE PTERODACTYLS HAVE GONE…I think
Last time I mentioned them on the phone to the coordinator at Chicheley, she didn’t seem impressed. Maybe they’re keeping it under wraps? Who knows, but I’m going back very, very soon, so I will keep you updated Jurassic park fans. I would be desperately sad if they have gone, and more so because it means I missed the opportunity to procure them for my garden (they wouldn’t fit no, but it would be hilarious for them to be sticking out over the hedgerow). Chicheley seemed to get a kick out of this wedding, they’ve been using the images o their website and in their marketing material at the Milton Keynes wedding fair for some years. I’ll take it as a compliment, great pictures are timeless, and these guys styled their wedding so beautifully that it’s a testimony to elegance being timeless too!
Transforming Spaces: Chicheley Hall’s Ceremony and Reception
The area used for the ceremony was turned around for the breakfast, its such a great space, the arches make an awesome natural frame. The huge windows at either side of the venue create beautiful light in the room, being such an open white space the light bounces off everything and looks fantastic. Enjoy my lovelies, this was a special day, thanks to Jon and Emma for letting me be there x
Hopefully you enjoyed this as much as I did, if your enthusiasm for dinosaurs is as strong as mine then we should meet for a cup of tea. In the meantime, check out some more of my wedding photography in northampton and across the county including Quinton House.
Still want even more? Well here you go! Here’s a wedding at Kelmarsh Hall as well and here’s some crockwell farm wedding photos.
