St. Barts is a pub Liam, much like any other pub, why would you put it amongst your top london wedding venues? Well I’ll tell you. You have all the benefits of a cosy pub that us English folk love so much, but, as it’s in the city, it is literally abandoned at the weekend. This is a two fold win. One, the venue is otherwise going to be shut at the weekend as there is no walk by traffic, so there’s no point in being open if you’ve got no customers to serve. This is a win as the venue is going to be glad of your business. It’s an event, so a fixed amount of drink is likely to be consumed which is easier to plan for. There won’t be any kind of mischief from drunk guests so no need for bouncers, and it’s an opportunity for the team to put new things on the menu and work out how they would work in a day to day environment, everyone wins here. Big win number two. There’s nobody wondering around outside and therefore, no need to tell anyone off for going outside with a pint to have a smoke. Big win number three, the park across the road. I will caveat this entry with the fact that there was a homeless chap in the gardens the last time I was there who was obviously capitalising on the point I’m about to make, it’s a park in London with no one in it. Literally empty, and it’s big enough for the kids to have a run around, but it’s also enclosed, so no one will get lost. This means you can hire the pub as your venue, but they can have a drinks station set up in the park to keep guests hydrated with Pimm’s and the like. Throw in the fact that it’s simply a really nice pub and you’ve got a winner. I also really like the fact that the guests were seated on different levels. It creates intimate little pockets of people who can feel a part of the bigger picture, but whilst also enjoying quality catch up time. It also gives a unique feel to the speeches as guests on the mezzanine can look over the balcony and create a colosseum feel. Maybe a tad dramatic, but it creates a wall of sound when laughs come from multiple directions, and it makes it feel more intimate too.
Conclusion
At St Barts Brewery, your wedding will be steeped in the rich history of the venue, intertwined with your unique love story.
