The Lordship Pub Wedding

The Lordship pub wedding photography; everyone loves a pub wedding reception, the fire, the cosy chairs, the free flowing beer. It’s all good. I do wonder sometimes if mine is the last generation to truly enjoy pubs, fitness and Instagram has lured the young folk outside. This is no bad thing of course, and pubs will have to adjust to survive, but I wonder of the rich history and tradition associated with pubs in the UK really exists in the minds of today’s youth. I only ever met my grandfather for example in his local pub. In thirty years we never went to his house, he was always at the bar, same spot, drinking Guinness.

Ah, the quaint charm of a British pub! There’s something indescribably charming about celebrating a wedding in a pub, isn’t there? And when it’s a venue as distinctively characterful as The Lordship Pub, the sense of intimacy and nostalgia is amped up several notches. As your Lordship Pub wedding photographer, my goal is to help you bring this unique charm into the visual narrative of your special day.

A Venue Steeped in History

For those who may not know, The Lordship Pub is a gem tucked away in the East Dulwich area of London. This venue oozes character from every corner, with its eclectic mix of vintage décor, traditional pub fare and, of course, an incredible selection of beers, ales and spirits. It’s like stepping into a different era, which lends an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie to any event held here.

Capturing Your Lordship Pub Wedding

Now, to the crucial bit – the photographs. As a wedding photographer, my job is to capture not only the big moments, but also the in-between ones that often go unnoticed. The Lordship Pub, with its unique ambience, provides an incredible backdrop for these spontaneous, candid moments. Think about the laughter over shared stories, the clinking of glasses to toast your future, the joy of friends and family gathered in one space to celebrate love. It’s my job (and my pleasure) to capture these moments and weave them into the visual story of your wedding day.

Tailoring Your Wedding Photography

Every wedding is unique, and your Lordship Pub wedding will be no different. As your wedding photographer, I’ll work with you to understand your vision for the day. We’ll walk through the pub together, identifying the best spots for photos. The cozy corners, the old-world bar, the charming exterior – we’ll use all these elements to create memorable images that reflect the essence of your relationship and the beauty of your wedding day.

Lordship Pub Wedding Reception

This amazing wedding actually takes place at the Horniman Museum, and the reception held at the Lordship. I don’t think they have a partnership with each other, it’s just a handy location nearby to stage the afternoons festivities. Plus you get draught beer, which is a big win.  The team at the lordship are excellent; really lovely to work with, efficient but easy going and the food is excellent. When you first see the layout of the tables it may seem unsociable, but when you see the space function when it’s full of people it’s actually no different to a huge dining hall. If anything during the speeches the space works to your advantage as guests have to stand and fill the space. This makes the space more intimate and a lot more jovial because it feels less formal. Charlie’s groomsmen stitched him up with some old photographs, so you can see how being close to the action translates into excellent photographs as you scroll down. Enjoy!
