How I Photograph Weddings. My Approach
As a somewhat exuberant wedding photojournalist it may come as a surprise that I am incredibly adept at going unnoticed, I blend in so well because I’m able to empathise with my subjects and know when to get close and when to remove myself. Some people need space, it’s my job to know when to be a photographer and when to be a human being. My role goes beyond merely observing; I engage and converse with guests. Fully immersing myself in your celebration enables me to weave intricate and multi-layered tales. I can photograph the essence of a wedding by being an integral part of it. Although I’m quite tall, you’ll hardly notice my presence and my portfolio undoubtedly showcases my knack for blending in. Fear not though, for when it’s time to rallying the crowd for a group photograph I’ve got my teachers voice nailed!
My work melds various styles and techniques, forging a distinct style, unique to me. When a moment is humorous I can call on my photojournalism skills and play with a moment compositionally; while tender moments call for a gentler, fine art touch. A top-notch photographer possesses a wide range of skills and the expertise to know when to utilise each. My images encapsulate your unique qualities and the connection you share, all without staging or re-enacting moments.

As a photographer based in this beautiful county, I’ve had the privilege of encapsulating the raw, unfiltered emotions of countless weddings. This style of photography is akin to visual journalism, and it’s all about being a fly on the wall, silently capturing the heart warming, intimate moments that often go unnoticed. The stolen kisses, the laughter during speeches, the secret tears of joy, the excited glances between newlyweds – these are the candid moments that breathe life into the narrative of your day. Hertfordshire, with its stunning rural landscapes and quintessential English charm, provides a perfect setting for these authentic, unposed pictures. In my role as a documentary wedding photographer, I aim to deliver a visual diary that will allow you to relive the magic and emotion of your wedding day for years to come
