Captivating Dodford Manor Wedding Photography: A Jewel in the Crown of Northamptonshire Venues
Introduction to Dodford Manor Wedding Photography
Dodford Manor is one of, if not THE most highly sought after venue in the county along with Dodmoor House. I have no idea how they’ve pulled it off, their marketing team must be incredibly skilled and forward-thinking. Every open day is full of prospective clients, all the awards have been mopped up, and the majority of days throughout the summer months are booked up well in advance.
The most impressive thing? They have still managed to maintain the individual care and attention that each wedding deserves, and that’s why the rave reviews keep flying in. I’ve been fortunate enough to have shot at Dodford many times, it really is a jewel in the crown of local wedding venues. Vintage, laid back, informal, formal, cocktail reception, anything you like.
The combination of hand-cut stone barns mixed with huge panes of glass means this venue can be adapted to meet all tastes and styles.
Unforgettable Weddings at Dodford Manor: A Photographer’s Perspective
Dodford Manor is an exclusive use barn wedding venue set against a most magnificent backdrop of rolling countryside. This is the type of venue you pull into and instantly imagine where your shots are going to be taken. The rolling driveway and endless views over the countryside make it a fantastic venue to work at.
Considering Dodford can manage five weddings a week, I was so stoked when I took this picture, not only because the lighting is all kinds of epic, but it’s an angle of Dodford Manor that I’ve not seen in anyone else’s portfolio.
I love giving couples something that is completely unique as no matter how many you shoot, no two weddings are the same. I pride myself on pushing to create something unique, and in each of the following three weddings, I’m pretty sure I nailed it.
Creating Unforgettable Memories: A Showcase of Dodford Manor Wedding Photography
I’m told Dodford Manor underwent a massive restoration project in order to get it to its current state of splendour and it has really paid off. The layout of the venue is perfect, providing an intimate and secluded location whilst maintaining focus on the superb views. The crowning glory has to be the panoramic views during the wedding breakfast, floor to ceiling glass fills the room and allows diners to enjoy the expanse of countryside all evening.
Dodford Manor is packed with charm and the layout is excellent photographically speaking, it allows a sense of openness yet keeps the guests all in one place to make co-ordination much more efficient. As soon as I saw that hill when I entered the venue I knew it had to be done. Jenny & Ryan
What a beautiful day this was. So many tears of joy. The image of Ryan with his dad remains one of my all time favourites. The facial expression the squeezing of the arm, the sense of pride and compassion is tangible. It’s moments like that that I live for and what I love about photography.
The views over the landscape are fantastic, but there’s something about the magic of an unrepeatable moment that will always interest me more, I love being able to create images which show the genuine, tangible love that friends and family have for each other. This wedding was full of nervous anticipation, tears of joy and…underpants (see the best man’s speech). This wedding happened a few years ago, but i enjoy revisiting old blog posts as it allows me to continually review and refine my work.
What is wonderful however, is that the images that I loved then, I still love now, so much so that some are in my main portfolio still. Such is the power of great images, they are timeless, a great picture is a great picture, whether it was taken twenty years ago or yesterday. My aim is to deliver a collection of images that are not only impactful at the time of first viewing, but also way into the future, so future generations can look back upon them and relive the moments with their parents and grandparents.
