Experience as a Kew Gardens Wedding Photographer

My experience as a Kew Gardens wedding photographer has taught me how to use the natural and architectural beauty of the gardens to complement the love story of each couple. The blending of vibrant colours, historic buildings, and the raw emotions of a wedding day creates a symphony of elements that brings each photo to life.

One of the most famous gardens in the world, Kew gardens in London has a long and fascinating history. the gardens were first established in 1759 by princess Augusta, the mother of king George iii. inspired by her travels to Holland, Augusta wanted to create a similar Dutch-style garden at Kew. she enlisted the help of well-known landscape architect William chambers, and together they transformed the area into a beautiful public park. today, Kew gardens covers more than 300 acres and is home to more than 50,000 different plants and trees. the gardens are also a popular tourist destination, attracting over two million visitors each year. whether you’re interested in horticulture or simply looking for a relaxing place to spend a day, as one of London’s most spectacular wedding venues , Kew gardens is sure to delight. the cafĂ© at Kew is transformed into the most beautiful dining space for the wedding breakfast, and then is turned into an epic dance floor space to rave the night away. my top tips for getting married at Kew gardens and what to consider for the best photographs

I believe in giving you all the information you need with no filter so you can plan accordingly. It makes everyone’s life easier! a few things to note about Kew gardens as a wedding venue. it’s huge. now this may seem obvious, but when planning a wedding it’s easy to get carried away with visions of photographs in al the different greenhouses and at all the different sites and features. they do have a golf buggy, but it takes a lot of time to transfer to each location, so my top tip is choose your favourite one or two locations and just visit those, otherwise you’ll miss your entire drinks reception just taking couple portraits. second top tip, remember that the most exotic greenhouse is also the most humid. ladies this will potentially frizz up your hair, gents this means in a three piece suit you will be unbelievably hot. Kew gardens is an awesome venue for a wedding, but something i would consider is the orientation of your ceremony if you’re getting married in the Nash conservatory. the building faces east to west, isn’t crowded by trees and of course being a conservatory means it’s all glass, so it gets plenty of light. whilst that can’t sound like a bad thing, in fact too much directional light can be an issue. if you’re planning a ceremony that is in the afternoon, the orientation of the space means the light will be shining directly into your and your guests eyes. add into the mix that it’s a conservatory and you’ve got a recipe for a bright and very hot wedding ceremony. that being said, it’s only really an issue in high summer, as a winter wedding venue it’s actually ideal. high ceilings, lots of light and actually quite romantic the sound of rain on a glass roof.

My approach to being a wedding photographer at Kew Gardens is to capture the authenticity of each moment. From the shared laughter to the tender tears, every emotion becomes a timeless memory against the backdrop of Kew Gardens’ breath-taking landscapes.
